Thanks for your reply, I appreciate that you understand that your perspective is different than others, and that both have validity. I want them to keep on that path, and not just shift gears because the FGC rejects their games and just go all the way towards pure “fun”. I think NRS is trying to win in both areas attract a huge casual audience to max revenue and early/launch profits, as well as attract the hardcore, competitive FG audience in order to sell additional DLC content long after other games have completely faded away. I’m not saying this is fact, but one of my concerns is that NRS would decide to turn away from making games that are designed with competitive and “balanced” play that the majority of “serious” FGs try to deliver, and instead just go in a fully party game/more casual focused direction. If MK has the support of the FGC, we get more events, better prize pools, notoriety for players, larger entrant numbers and playerbase-who play online more often and for a longer period of time, which means we get more content/characters/etc. With NRS games being scoffed at and bastardized by the larger FGC community it has major ripple effects in a lot of ways. ![]() The FGC is small compared to other gaming scenes, so opportunities are limited to begin with. Look back at comments from top NRS players regarding the treatment of the community at events.ĮVO in particular is a huge offender by allocating too few setups, subpar monitors, crazy time slots, etc. If you are just playing casually online, or ranked, you are correct that it doesn’t really matter if others shit on the game.īut, for people who are playing competitively, and traveling to events, it makes a big difference.
